Japan₋Cambodia Association Cambodia Office Opening Ceremony

On Monday, April 1, 2024, the opening ceremony for the Cambodian office of the Japan₋Cambodia Association (JCA) was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
In 2023, H.E Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, suggested that we establish an office as a point of contact for the Japanese side. JCA was able to reach this day with the cooperation of many people.

This year marks the 61st anniversary of JCA’s establishment. In 2014, it became a general incorporated association (under the jurisdiction of the Cabinet Office), and H.E. Takahashi became the seventh chairman. This year also marks  10th year as chairman.

H.E. Hein Soar, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, and Mao Chandara, Permanent Secretary of State at the Ministry of Interior, praised JCA’s achievements, saying, “JCA’s activities to date have strengthened the relationship of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Cambodia and Japan.” .

　
Additionally, H.E. Atsushi Ueno, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, gave the following greeting. “JCA is the only nationwide private organization in Japan that promotes cooperation between Japan and Cambodia.It has contributed to the friendly relationship between Japan and Cambodia through contributions such as garbage trucks and fireworks in front of the Royal Palace to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Japan-Cambodia friendship. They have made a great contribution. We hope that the opening of this office will help Japanese small and medium-sized businesses increase their investment in Cambodia.”





We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many people who attended the ceremony, including JCA members.
We received some specialty sake from Asakuchi City, Okayama Prefecture, who visited Cambodia for an inspection tour. Interactions among the participants also deepened.

Currently, only the first floor of the three-story office building is open.
Inside the room, there is a corner where corporate members can introduce their companies, set up pamphlets, and display photos, and the sofa seats in the center can be used as a place for business negotiations and meetings.
