Courtesy visit to H.E. Heng Sour Minister of Labor and Vocational Training

In order to develop both Japan and Cambodia, JCA promotes cooperation between local governments in addition to the expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises into Cambodia. This time, Mayor Asakuchi of Okayama Prefecture will be visiting Cambodia to develop sales channels for specialty products.
While developing sales channels in Cambodia, we aim to transfer the food manufacturing technology that Asakuchi City is proud of.

At the third inspection mission held in November 2023, H.E. Heng Sour Minister of Labor and Vocational Training suggested that we could resolve labor shortages and strengthen collaboration with small and medium-sized enterprises through collaboration with local governments. It all started with this.

H.E. Takahashi chairman of JCA gave the following greeting. “Asakuchi City is the first case supported by our association. For the development of both Japan and Cambodia, we need an opportunity to deepen the relationship in local economic development.We would like to build a stronger relationship through the JCA Cambodia Office”

H.E. Kuriyama, Mayor of Asakuchi City, brought local specialties and explained the characteristics of each one. H.E. Heng Sour Minister of Labor and Vocational Training expressed a strong interest in visiting Asakuchi City.

Asakuchi City has the largest production of hand-rolled udon noodles in Japan and the production of Japanese sake, as well as fruit and vegetable cultivation that takes advantage of the mild climate, and oyster farming.

We discussed technical cooperation related to the production of sake and noodles. We also discussed the possibility of developing tourism by establishing factories in rural areas.

Hikari Jidosha Co., Ltd., a JCA corporate member, gave a report on its auto mechanic school. Next Make Co., Ltd. reported on an IT school starting in the summer. We have reported on the nursing care facility and nursing school of Hitotoki Holdings, a general incorporated association. A newly joined individual member also introduced advertising and promotion on Tiktok.
